Abstract

In this paper, I explore the difference between what is presented in the curricula and what actually happens in a philosophy lesson. I analyze how this hidden class can escape formal recording, missing crucial details of effective teaching. Based on Waquet's proposal on the oral history of science, I propose a methodology to reconstruct what happens in the classroom, using various sources, such as the teacher notes, student notes, and student interviews. I exemplify the research with an analysis of Rodolfo Kusch's Aesthetics classes at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón School of Fine Arts. I suggest that interviews can capture the impact of lectures on students, providing a new way of studying and understanding philosophy teaching beyond formal records.
