About the Journal

Contextos de Educación is a scientific journal affiliated with the Department of Educational Sciences of the Faculty of Human Sciences, National University of Río Cuarto (Argentina). Since its creation in 1998, the journal aims to spread knowledge and debate related to the broad and heterogeneous field of education, understanding it as a social, cultural, political, and situated practice.

With a plural, critical, and interdisciplinary perspective, the journal encourages a comprehensive approach to educational phenomena and dialogue among teachers, researchers, students, work teams, and educational institutions, both national and international. It constitutes a space that promotes the analysis, reflection, interpretation, and problematization of socio-educational scenarios in a process of collective construction based on a diversity of knowledge and theoretical, methodological, and experiential perspectives.

Faced with an emerging world in which educational challenges and problems are expanding and becoming more complex, our Journal is committed to contributions that promote the recovery of humanizing practices based on Human Rights.

Without ignoring the central role that the print edition played over the past decade, since 2011 (Year 11 - No. 11), Contextos de Educación has adopted a digital format, taking into account the contribution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to the dissemination of scientific research results and educational experiences. The flexible access offered by digital systems has enabled the ongoing production and dissemination of the knowledge provided by our Journal over the years, sustaining its biannual publication.

In this regard, Contextos de Educación is an open-access journal, with its content available free of charge in digital format. The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform for the management, publication and access of its content, promoting its circulation and visibility among the academic community.

In line with the expansion of scientific journals, Contextos de Educación is a publication that, from its inception, adheres to the international standards and norms that guide this type of production and maintains a permanent process of adaptation and improvement of its editorial practices. Within this framework, the journal is currently indexed in Latindex Catálogo 2.0, AmeliCA, REDIB, LatinREV, Malena, BNM, and MIAR, and is also listed in Google Scholar. This presence in indexes and databases enhances the visibility, accessibility, and circulation of the journal's content, strengthening its standing at both regional and international levels. In this process, Contextos de Educación continues working to expand its reach to new databases and systems of academic recognition indexing.

We begin this new phase of Contextos de Educación with the desire to reach a broad audience of readers, as well as authors who commit to publishing their work in our Journal, along with receiving the valuable scientific contributions of those who have trusted Contextos for several years. 

We are also forever grateful for the rigorous work of the evaluators who have supported us, and we maintain our fervent commitment to the public dissemination of science in the field of education.
