Sport and active life: an analysis in the city of Río Cuarto

Abstract

In this writing, we present the current state of progress of the research project “Sport and active life. A Study of different degrees of formalization of sports”. The project aims at analyzing the variety of sports in the different degrees of formalization as autotelic practices of active life in the city of Río Cuarto. The general objective of the project is to study sports. To meet this aim concrete ideas about sports are analyzed as implied in calls, ordinances, programs, projects and proposals from public organizations and institutions of the city, in order to recognize particularities of the different degrees of formalization of sports.A mixed methods approach of immerse design is conducted, in which quantitative data is collected and analyzed to complement the qualitative data. The focus of interest is on sports activities as a right of the population, within the context of the active life of the citizens of Río Cuarto.
