My history with sexuality: stories from physical Education Students

Abstract

The article analyses stories from physical education students related with their sexuality. These stories leave marks that are waiting to be recovered and problematized, especially when they come from students who will teach comprehensive sexual education (CSE). This text review experiences and their subjective impacts, considering one of the entrance doors of the CSE: the reflection on ourselves. It analyses what the students remember learning in schools in which, due to their ages, the CSE should have been taught; what sexual education approaches characterize their experiences; what conceptions and dimensions about sexuality they associate with their stories; what topics do men talk about between themselves; what topics do women talk about between themselves and what experiences are remembered based on socially assigned sex-gender. The analysis allow us to identify certain recurrences and singularities that characterize the experiences of the students and that can be taken as starting point to review one´s own history with sexuality, look at it from the perspective of CSE and visualize its teaching in schools. At the same time, the analysis shows the importance of teaching in sexual education from a comprehensive perspective and defend CSE in university institutions.
