CENTRAL TOPICS IN LIBERTARIAN DISCOURSES: ON CASTE AND THE STATE

Our work is a socio-semiotic inquiry about the discursive formation of La Libertad Avanza, since its emergence in 2021. In this article, we will consider its conditions of possibility and some of the main topics that structure it. On the one hand, we will analyze the figure of “the caste” as a signifier capable of condensing the multiple meanings that are part of the polemical and antagonistic dimension of these discourses, and its particular and elastic way of configuring the negative Other. On the other hand, the meanings attributed to the “State,” a key signifier in the configuration of a new order that denies the public sphere, the political, and the language of rights, deeply tied to sad
passions and to the fragmentation of social bonds.
